I feel that this is warranted since I started the made in Thailand thread. Initially I had reservations on the amp because it was made in Thailand. So after listening to the president of RF give his description of where RF is with outsourcing I felt comforted. I had a chance to open up my T1000-1BD amplifier to take a look at the circuitry and here's what I found. The circuit boards are definitely military grade quality and the circuit board is very neatly layed out and from the looks of the internals whether made in Thailand or the USA the amp is very very well built. In my old T1500-1BD I counted 12 TO 247 mosfets. In this RF T1000-1BD I counted 14 TO 247 mosfets that were perfectly bolted in place. There were 3 giant sized military grade capacitors also in this T1000-1BD. Over the years I have seen the internals of many amplifiers but RF amplifiers have a look of detail and ruggedness to them. My Punch 250.1 Power amplifier has the same build quality as this RF T1000-1BD. This amp performs as flawlessly as it looks,.
I CANNOT STRESS ENOUGH HOW WELL BUILT THIS RF T1000-1BD AMP IS. I am going to say that down the line 20 years from now, like people look at the durability of the Punch 45, 75, 150, etc, people are going to look at these current and past 2004-05 lines of RF Power series amps and classify them as some of the best amps ever made.
Thanks. The product is strong as hell. I sometimes get a chuckle out of people that talk about how Rockford isn't what it used to be... Take a look under the hood of the old classic Punch 150 or Punch 200 and compare to the Rockford amps of today at the same price point. Enjoy your T1000. BTW -What woofers are you running?
